Story
After recovering from an injury last year I'll be running the London Marathon in April 2024 to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research. This cause is very close to my heart, as it has affected me and my family. I lost my Dad to the disease when I was 11 years old and in 2014, I also lost my Uncle, his brother. My Uncle, their younger brother has also suffered with the disease but has benefited from improvements in treatment that charities like Prostate Cancer Research help to deliver. The pain of losing a loved one, or watching them suffer from prostate cancer is something that no family should endure. By participating in the London Marathon, I hope to honour the memories of my Dad and Uncle while raising awareness and much-needed funds for Prostate Cancer Research.
Prostate cancer affects millions of families worldwide. It's the most common cancer in men in the UK, with and 1 in 8 men diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and one man dying from the disease every 45 minutes. These numbers highlight the urgency of supporting research initiatives that aim to find better treatments, early detection methods, and ultimately, a cure.
By supporting my London Marathon journey, you're helping to fund ground breaking research and joining the collective effort to prevent more families from enduring the pain of losing a loved one, or watching them suffer with prostate cancer.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and generosity!
