Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of our father Richard Evans.
He personally chose two charities for which he would like donations to be made in his memory. One of which is The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust (CTRT).
Richard was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 2012. He was under the diligent care of Dr Paul Nathan at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, who he held in high regard, during his coureagous battle. Through the work of CTRT our father was able to try a variety of cancer treatments which would otherwise not have been available. This treatment enabled him to have a further 8 years of making memories with his family and friends including seeing his two twin grandsons Daniele and Edoardo being born and growing up.
CTRT plays a key role in raising funds for the world-class cancer research undertaken by consultants at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood, Middlesex. The CTRT’s mission is to enable Mount Vernon consultants to continue with vital research and their quest for new life-saving cancer treatments.
The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre plays a leading role in the on-going battle to find effective treatments for cancers.
The Centre has an international reputation for innovation and excellence in clinical cancer research. This covers most types of cancer with particularly detailed work on ovarian, testicular, bowel and kidney cancers. The Centre is unique because despite not being part of a teaching hospital, all its 24 oncologists are committed to both clinical care of patients and cancer research.
