Story
On the 1st October 2010, 8 of us will be flying out to Rwanda, where we will spend the next two weeks living in local villages coaching kids to play cricket and teachers and local coaches to coach cricket.
OK - so I am not a greatest cricketer in the world, but this is a great cause. Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) has been going for nearly 5 years and now operates in 4 of the poorest African countries (www.cricketwithoutboundaries.com). Along with bringing communities together and giving kids the opportunity to play sport we also take the opportunity to raise HIV/Aids awareness and break down some pretty strong prejudices.
For me personally it will be a fantastic opportunity to see another way of life at first hand and try and do something a little more productive than my usual trips abroad.
I will cover all my travel/living expenses and most significantly my bar bill. All the money you donate goes direct to the charity and will be spent on sports equipment that we will leave with the communities as part of the legacy.
In order to encourage you to donate I have signed up to do the Kent Coastal half marathon, I hope a little pain on my part might encourage you to give generously.
I really appreciate any contribution that you can make no matter how small.
Cheers
Richard
