Story
Last year, I successfully completed the Lancaster University Triathlon. This year, I am taking on a new challenge by signing up for the City of Preston 10K 2018 at the end of September - having trained to run 5K for the triathlon, I'm doubling my distance!
In the same month, I will also be taking part in the Lancaster University Triathlon for the second time. I am hoping that a) I can set a better time and b) the weather will be better than it was in 2017 - just look at my main page image to get some idea!
Any donations are much appreciated, and will go to support the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. The Alistair Reid Venom Research Unit at LSTM conducts important work into reducing death and disability resulting from snakebites in the tropics, including the improvement of antivenom treatment and developing a snakebite emergency response app. I wanted to support LSTM as later on this year, I am going to India to do some volunteer work with surveying snakes in the northwest of the country; snakebite is a serious problem in India, estimated to cause over 45,000 deaths in the country every year.
