Story
The first thing to say is that I am not doing this challenge on my own. A good friend of mine, Martin , originally planned to do this and when we found out the other's intentions we decided to join forces as it were. We are both very keen cyclists and are members of the same cycling club.
Like most cyclists, LEJOG has been on my 'to do' list for a long time and when I found out that Martin wanted to do it as well I couldn't really say no. We are very fortunate to be supported by Martin's farther in law, Ron, who will be driving a support car and meeting up with us at the end of every day.
On a more personal note. When Martin mentioned that we should use this trip to raise money I immediately thought of cancer research UK. The reason for this is that I unfortunately lost a member of my family to cancer just over six years ago. I originally did not think of fundraising but when it was suggested, I thought, anything that can help stop cancer affecting more people in the world has got to be a good thing.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations you feel you can make to this very good cause.
Roll on John O'Groats and let's hope it doesn't rain too much :-D
