Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My ride on Day 1 on the 30th of Sept 2017 is an approximately 100 miles supported ride from Twickenham  to Banbury

My second day (the following day) is a 47 mile supporter ride from Banbury to the Ricoh arena.

This is one of hell of a challenge for me as I've never covered this distance before but I'm determined to achieve it for a worthy cause. I  should blame my mate Pete or thank him ... time will tell !

This is why I am taking part and here's some insight & background info for you all -

The Wasps 150 Anniversary Ride is designed to take in all of Wasps' iconic training and match-day grounds including Sudbury, Loftus Road and Adams Park before finishing at the 150th Anniversary fixture at the Ricoh Arena, which will be an Aviva Premiership clash.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks delivers an intensive, long-term skills development programme based on rugby, through which we aim to get teenagers outside of mainstream education into sustained education, employment or training.
They don’t expect that to happen overnight. Which is why it’s important they’re central to each school’s curriculum – so they can build long-term relationships. A small group of 8-12 young people per school get to know their coaches over 30 weeks per year, for two years, while also engaging in a variety of employability days and skill building workshops. At the end of these two years, they receive a year of 1:1 mentoring to support their transition into Why do they do this? Because they know there are a huge range of factors leading to students being excluded from mainstream education. And, whatever that reason, they don’t believe that should signal exclusion from mainstream society too.

The ride will contribute towards Wasps raising £50,000 for Dallaglio RugbyWorks – a programme set up by former club captain and Wasps director Lawrence Dallaglio to help disadvantaged 14 to 17 year-olds achieve sustained education,
