Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hello everyone, not sure what happened to my mental state but I think its been long enough to attempt a new challenge for charity. This time I have upped my game and added a twist. I will be paddling laps of the Upper Dart loop, 7km of crashing white water for 24 hours, which is a very tough challenge in its own, in the day light.

Due to the weather and many talks with locals of snowdon this won’t be a good year to attempt riding up and down the mountain, the later winter means it would certainly kill one of us as the paths will be covered in ice and snow. I don’t want to die and I especially don’t want to cause the death of a friend.

So instead I will be riding on the road back from devon to Watton in Norfolk, total milage 300 miles, I should be able to complete this in 24 hours if I average 12.5 mph, without stopping!! 12.5 seems easy, except theres a lot of hills and head winds to factor in, still a very tough ride, also after paddling for 24hrs!!

This is going to be tough! In the last three years I have lost my Mum, father in-law, three other close friends and September 2015 my best friend Matt Smith to cancer. Also in September we lost our baby Clarence who was 21 weeks old, this was a such a horrid experience that i wish on no one. So its time to push myself past my limits to raise much needed money to help other families get through these tough times as we were helped.

This years my chosen charities are…………..

McMillan Cancer Support, these nurse’s work so hard to help make people’s lives more comfortable towards the end and bring great comfort to the families effected.

Also a charity close to my heart, Simba, Simpsons memory Box Appeal, these are a memory box given to you in hospital after a un-born baby has died, these don’t seem much for the lose but it does make a massive difference to the family walking away from the hospital with nothing but pain as a memory.

Check out there website for more details http://www.simbacharity.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising-events/

The final reason is to bring awareness of whats happening to the NHS, in clear sight the government are trying to privatise the NHS. Why is this so much of a problem ? Well its pretty much a death sentence to working class families and the poor. We need to open our own eyes and not believe what rubbish is printed in the press, in a few years we could lose the NHS forever.
