Story
This page has been set up on behalf of Jen & Pete Hughes, in loving memory and dedication to their son Rhys. Rhys was with us in person for all too short a time, but his smile and laughter brought warm and light to all who had the pleasure of spending time with him.
Rhys had a shorter life than any of us would have wished for, and in the Rainbows team, from nurses and heath care assistances, chefs to cleaners all played the most tremendous role in ensuring both Rhys and his family were looked after and supported in every way possible.
The experiences that Rainbows gave Rhys, from butterfly watching and story reading, laughter fuelled by burps and trumps, as well as their constant and never faltering support of their parents has been beyond the 'care of duty' of any health care professionals.
Rainbows Hospice is a family, an extended family, welcoming children with short lives into their supportive embrace and holding them and their families near.
It is this vain, that Rhys' family ask you to honour Rhys and his memory by donating money, if you are able to, to Rainbows.
They particularly would like to raise enough money to update some of the furniture in the parents flat, and some Tonie or Yoto story boxes, that can read aloud some of Rhys' much loved Julia Donaldson stories to other children.
By doing this, we can all keep Rhys' memory alive, and give something small back to those who made his life as full and as happy as anyone could wish for their child.
