Story
My name is Rhea Kara. I am 8 years old and am in Year 4 at Eaton House The Manor Girls’ School. I heard about the Reverse Rett charity from my school. This is a charity run by mums and dads of children who suffer from Rett Syndrome. Rett is an illness which does not allow you to use your body anymore. You suddenly can’t use your hands or legs. It mostly affects young girls. I cannot imagine how I would feel if this happened to me – I would not be able to paint or do arts and crafts anymore!
There is not a cure for Rett as yet but people are trying to find one. The charity Reverse Rett needs money to help find a cure as fast as possible for the children who suffer from this.
My passion is art and painting. I decided to paint 100 canvasses by 28th June 2014 in time for our local village fete. I will sell these paintings from a stall at the Abbeville Fete and will give all the money to Reverse Rett.
Please can you sponsor me in my effort to paint 100 canvasses by 28th June 2014? There is a link to donate on this page.
If you’re able to come down to the fete on Abbeville Road in Clapham, London, SW4 on Saturday 28th June 2014, please come along – maybe you’ll like one of my paintings and want to buy one. Some examples of my paintings which will be on sale are on this website. I hope you like something !
