Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donations are used for research projects into nerve repair and spine or skull base tumours.

At UCL I am developing a cell therapy for repair of damaged nerve fibres. One promising cell candidate is called the "Olfactory Ensheathing Cell" and we are planning to use these cell transplants to repair injured spinal nerves which are commonly damaged in motorcycle accidents. Injury to the spinal nerve roots that supply the arm can result in complete paralysis, with little chance of recovery unless the nerves are surgically placed back into the spinal cord with cell transplants to help the nerve fibres grow back again.  We are the only centre in the UK in which this surgery is performed on the NHS, and we need donations to fund the cell culture facility and key scientific staff required for the project.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
