Story

Lisa Jayne White passed away on the 18th April after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Lisa was a loving mother, daughter, sister and auntie. We will all miss Lisa dearly. The family have come together and chosen a charity which we'd love to support in remembrance of Lisa. A charity everyone who knows Lisa, knows she was passionate about. The British Hedgehog Preservation Society.

Right up to the day Lisa passed, she was caring for a blind hedgehog, which couldn't be released into the wild. Truth is Lisa has cared for, rehomed and released hundreds of hedgehogs in Kent. She became the local, ‘go to’ person for rescuing wildlife, particularly hedgehogs, who she would house in the shed in her garden complete with heat pads and all the comforts she could afford. Neighbours, friends and family would drop off animal supplies and she pretty much kept BandM bargains in business with all the pet products she bought there! She had looked after everything from her prickly little friends to Alfie the corn snake, mice, rabbits and her beloved cats, Misty and Maisie Ray, who never left Lisa’s side. She even found time to feed the fox in the garden and the seagulls on the roof! Lisa truly dedicated herself to looking after the animals, even giving them any leftover food from her meals instead of keeping it for a second portion for herself! She was so accomplished and professional in her approach that even the vets would sometimes ring her up to ask her advice about wildlife that arrived on their doorstep!

We ask instead of giving flowers, if you could please give a donation to the charity Lisa used to work with. Who helped her care for the hedgehogs she so kindly took in and treated.
