Story
Our dearly-loved friend Agnes Bowman sadly passed away on Saturday 9 January 2021, after a short illness. “Oor Aggie” - as she was affectionately known – was truly one in a million. She was a cherished friend and colleague who was generous, warm and caring, and always had a listening ear. At work, for some 15 years, she created a sense of community, brought banter, the all-important gossip, many laughs, and a playful sense of humour that brightened the greyest of days. For many, she was the heart and soul of the workplace.
Oor Aggie, you will be deeply missed by so many.
In Agnes’ memory, we are raising funds for Glasgow’s Golden Generation which was set up to combat loneliness and isolation in older adults. Active in the pandemic delivering parcels of essential items, like food, to older adults in their homes, it also provides a friendship service calling older adults every week to ensure they have all that they need and to lend a friendly ear. Aggie loved and thrived on interaction with people. That is why, in her memory, we would like to support others having the same interaction, which is all the more important during these challenging times: Visit: https://glasgowgg.org.uk/
