Nepal Earthquake – IAHV UK is committed to help
IAHV UK has committed to respond to the evolving humanitarian disaster in Nepal. Can you help us to help those in need?
The devastation and urgency of the situation are being carried live by CNN, BBC and other media organisations. At the time of writing, the BBC is reporting over 4000 people killed and at least 7000 people injured http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-32483119.
IAHV and AOL have a team in Nepal which is working closely with the Government, helping in hospitals and in rescue work. AOL centres are already providing shelter for over 200 people who have lost their homes.
Our plan at the moment is to provide funding via the local AOL organisation in Nepal.
Our three-stage model for response is
1- IMMEDIATE MATERIAL AID AND SERVICE in the aftermath of a calamity which includes food, clothes, medicines and shelter.
2- NEAR-TERM TRAUMA RELIEF: For survivors who have experienced severe physical and emotional trauma, Alleviating the trauma and helping them reclaim their lives is essential
3- LONG-TERM REHABILITATION: True relief concludes with completely rehabilitating survivors - physically, emotionally and socially. Our volunteers work in village and with local communities building homes sanitation systems, roads, schools, vocational training centres.
We make no deduction for administration or overheads, and if you make your donation eligible for Gift Aid, (for UK tax-payers only) then by donating via IAHV UK, your donation is worth an additional 25%.
Thank you for your donation and assistance.
