Story
Cancer sadly affects so many peoples lives whether it has happened to yourself, a relative, a friend or even someone you once knew years ago. Cancer doesn't care whether you are young or old, rich or poor, what religion you are, or what colour your hair is - we all have a story, a memory of someone where the big C has taken someone from us to soon and that didn't deserve to go.
There are a big team of us doing the Santa dash this year including our gorgeous son Joshua, two nephews Charlie and Joey and little Jack Jack who will be our elves (and no doubt we will be carrying them around for the 5k but they will still look cute and be involved).
Pauline and her husband Danny were always classed as family to us and always will. As kids we have grown up knowing them so they have always been in our lives. Pauline was funny, happy, caring and had a wicked sense of humour. Her laugh was infectious and her smile would light up any room she was in - it was never a dull moment with her about. She had a passion for Manchester United, going to Turkey with Danny and she could deafen you with her finger whistling from any distance.
Pauline was a character who you felt would live forever so the news of her diagnosis and death came as a big shock and still does not feel real.
Everyone has their own story and I admire peoples strength in how they deal with each one.....this one......my story......is for Pauline. x
