Story

In memory of Jeevan, I will be cycling over 1000 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End, starting 9th September 2020. In the process I will be raising money for the Anthony Walker Foundation.

I am completing the ride with my brother Lewis who will be raising money for Socks and Chocs:  https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=LewisJecketts&pageUrl=1

Jeevan and I spent years playing hockey together; he was not only a teammate and my captain but also a very good friend. Anyone that knew Jeevan will know what a caring person he was, which is why I wanted to raise money for a charity that means a lot to Jeevan’s family and I know would have meant a lot to him.

The Anthony Walker Foundation is a Merseyside based charity established by Gee Walker following Anthony’s tragic death in a racially-motivated attack in July 2005. Our mission is to promote diversity, integrity and racial harmony through education, sport and arts events and support criminal justice agencies and local communities to reduce hate crime and build safer, more cohesive communities.

Their work and services is acknowledged by agencies and local authorities and has proven to be effective in influencing behaviour and attitudes positively amongst young people with many inspired to become volunteers and ambassadors for our Foundation.
