.........WE DID IT!!!!!!!
A little over at 4hr 36mins 21secs but I am just happy I made it round in one piece, and not a bad time for a first timer.
THANK YOU so much for everyone's support, you can't begin to believe how much this sponsorship kept me going (especially between miles 18 and 22 when I honestly had to deal with some pretty horrible moments!), I am so grateful and very very happy to have raised so much money, THANK YOU!!!!!
As promised, there are some photos up, I guess it's the least I could do to prove I was there, although they truly are some of the worst photos ever taken of me!
The experience was amazing and I would do it all over again if I could, just maybe not for a while :)
If anyone is ever thinking of running a marathon or a half, do it! you'll love it :)
I also could not have got through without my best friend Carol, we managed to keep each other going and recorded almost exactly the same splits! She did manage in 4hr 36 mins 20secs (1s faster!!!) so please help her raise money for Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow, http://www.justgiving.com/CarolEdwards/,
And a final big thanks to Colin and Adam, I think we had some of the loudest support along 1st and 5th avenues than anyone else!
Lots of love,Becky xox
p.s. if anyone was checking my time / splits on the ING NYC marathon website I'm registered under 'Rebecca Fisher' not Weir (still not updated my passport!)
Christian Aid is a charity working to improve the lives of the world's most poorest people regardless of religion, ethnicity or nationality. It helps communities to work their way out of poverty, speaks out against injustice and campaigns for change.
Christian Aid's work is vital during times when natural disasters, famine and war are tearing apart families, communities and lives across the world. They deliver life saving medicines, food and shelter to those who need it most and aim to eradicate poverty and its causes through tireless campaigning. It's an amazing cause that donating just £1 to could literally change lives.
