Story
Becky Collard - Walking For Stella.....
Thanks for taking the time to visit this page. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible to help a 2 year old girl called Stella, who is having an incredible battle with cancer. Stella is the daughter of my school friend, John.
Stella Rogers was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Neuroblastoma at just 17 months old. She has had a terrible time trying to clear the cancer, undergoing 2 types of chemotherapy, radio therapy, and a major operation to remove a large tumour from her stomach. Unfortunately the probability of the cancer returning is extremely high. For Stella to have the best possible chances of survival, she needs to undergo antibody treatment which is only available in the US. This comes at the incredibly daunting cost of £250,000. But it increases her chances of survival from 20% to 80%.
I will be doing a little walk from Gravesend to Canterbury in Kent on the 29th and 30th May 2010. It's 50 miles, 25 miles a day, with an overnight stop, sleeping on a church hall floor... For those who know me well you will realise that this is quite a task, as I am an unfit, very sleep deprived, mum of 2 little children. I don't do much exercise and I don't like sleeping bags. I don't even currently have a pair of trainers... However this is such a worthwhile cause.
Please please please sponsor me so that we can contribute to the costs of this little girl's treatment.
