Each year 450 UK children are diagnosed with brain cancer. Among these there is a tumour so aggressive that there is NO effective treatment or a CURE - Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG. Responsible for 80% of all brain tumour death we raise vital research funds to give hope to DIPG families.

Story

On Thursday 19th September 2019 our world was destroyed when my darling Joey was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma)  It is a incurable, aggressive, inoperable  shitty Brain Tumour that grows in the brain stem. It  eventually takes hold of its host by taking away the ability to move, speak, eat and breathe. The average prognosis is 9 months. Joey didn’t make 3months 💔

Joeys tumour was nicknamed Jack.

We attempted to stop Jack growing with an intense bout of radiation to try and give us more time with Joey, we made the most of our journeys up to The Royal Marsden for treatment at appointments with lots of singing and snacks and treats at Smyths toy stores on our journeys.

Sadly the radiotherapy didn’t work and Jack continued to grow at a fast rate. Joey lost his very short battle with Jack on Saturday 14th December in my arms surrounded by his family 💔

Anyone who knew Joey would say he was a happy, smiley. Caring Boy who loved animals and his friends and family and just how special he really was..

He had a lot of dreams which he spoke to me about, one of which was to do a skydive, I promised my boy I would for fulfil All his wishes and dreams and that is why on Saturday 14th March, myself, Melissa Mann and Joeys uncle Andy will be jumping out of a plane for Joey! We want to raise as much money for Abbies Army whilst we do it!

Everyone will be welcome to come and watch us “Jump for Joey”  at Headcorn Aerodrome Saturday 14th March!

Thank you
