In memory of Ray Sharp
We're not only trying to keep traditional 1930s wooden sailing craft alive but also the traditional boatbuilding skills which are dwindling away with each year. Only upgrading with eco friendly electric motors to help keep with the times.

Story

Ray sailed with Hunters Yard and the Heritage Fleet on the Norfolk Broads several times over his life, starting in 1958 as a boy at Cheade Hulme school, and lastly in 2015 with his daughter and grandson.

The boats were important to him, both he and the family have several memories of trips over the years.

We'd be grateful for any donations in his memory to help keep the fleet alive for future generations.

######################

Hunter's Yard is based in Ludham just off the river Thurne on Womack water on the beautiful Norfolk Broads.Hunter's is a traditional boatyard owned by the Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust, who have been entrusted with looking after the historic fleet, lovingly knows as 'Percy's Lovely Ladies'. These traditional wooden old girls are from the 1930s and were built specifically for sailing on the unique beautiful Norfolk Broads waterways. They've had the honour of taking many a family, youth groups and schools out for superb sailing experiences. A few famous people too! Lullaby is even famous because she used in the BBC's Coots Club and the Big Six as Teasel. We still have her transom at the Yard and Tit Mouse the dinghy too. They have a very long history behind them; and must have a few tales to tell if they could. They've also had a few trials and tribulations along the way but they're still here.....so far! Please help us keep them alive for other generations to enjoy....Thank you
