Story
As some of you may know, the baby of our family Raveen, was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago (Hodgkins Lymphoma). After 12 bouts of intense chemo, it feels surreal to say she is finally in remission and her fight with cancer is over!!!!
As an (extremely!) over protective older sister I always felt like I could save her from everything and anything, but when she was diagnosed, there was nothing I could do to make it go away. Between us we have felt every emotion; guilt, sadness, anger, pain, frustration and confusion. I could speak at length about our journey and fight and that I really learnt first hand that you will never know what cancer is until it comes to your home. Facing cancer with my sister has really been a journey of unknowns and before writing this post I counted how many people I had reached out to speak to- 41!
Number 42 was Macmillan Cancer who I genuinely cannot thank for their support. I will be running the Royal Parks half marathon to raise money so that they can continue to support other people who may be in the space of darkness that we felt when cancer came home. More importantly I am running for my sister, our brave, cancer fighting and inspiring soldier, who was finally able to ring her 'bell of freedom'! 💕💕
