Story
'O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).'
- Al- Qur'an [2:183]
Alhamdulillah the blessed month of Ramadhan is upon us again - the month of mercy, guidance and victory. Wherein the remembrance of Allah is established and His nearness is attained.
It is the best month, containing the best nights; a month of gains and reward; where sins are expiated, rewards are multiplied and Allah's forgiveness is earned.
We also learn from the most generous of men, SallAllahu 'alayhi wasallam, that it is best time for giving in charity and earning reward.
The best charity is that given in Ramadhan
- Sunan at Tirmidhi
This Ramadhan, Ummah Welfare Trust will provide Iftaar packs to poor Muslims in 17 countries. Tens of thousands of families will be provided for in this blessed month inshaAllah.
Alhamdulillah over £3 million was spent in last year's global Iftaar programme. Over half a million Muslims received provisions, enabling to fast the blessed days of Ramadhan.
Ummah Welfare Trust aims to support even more families this year, but needs your help. For just £50, you can provide one poor family with an Iftaar pack that will last the entire month.
Fifty pounds is just £1.67 for each day of Ramadhan. The charity asks you to give generously therefore and provide Iftaar for as many families as you can. Zakah, Sadaqah or Lillah can be given.
The Ummah is one body, so let us make our efforts reflective of this. Open your hearts and donate generously in this month of giving.
