“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Then Allah Will build for him a house like it in Paradise” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Dad would make it a point to donate to the mosque at every opportunity and even more so, would ensure that every member of the family, from the oldest to the youngest - even when they were babies, would have something to give with their own hands.
We were touched by the hospitality of the mosque to our family and friends and their kindness during dad's funeral prayer, especially under Covid circumstances.
Birmingham Central Mosque is building an extension that will allow it to have a Dawa, Cafe and Information centre, new and improved wudu and ghusl facilities, as well as new and improved facilities for the youth and for the disabled. We are helping to raise money for this ambitious extension project that will improve the venue and quality of services offered to all the community. Dad had a tender heart and was very generous in giving, despite his modest means. We have been looking through his cheque book stubs lately, which are filled with charity donations - and we were not surprised to discover the breadth of causes that he supported. To name some: the Salvation Army, Surti Orphanage, Care International, the British Heart Foundation, the British Red Cross, Imran Khan Cancer Appeal, Islamic Relief, Macmillan Cancer Support, Edhi Foundation, and so on.
His varied concerns reflected his belief that Muslims should spread their love and benefit to all of humanity. In honour of this belief, which he instilled in us, we have chosen three causes (one local, one national and one international), which will continue benefiting humanity for many years to come (sadaqa jariya insha'Allah).
We would be very glad if you could honour his legacy and benefit his Afterlife by supporting these causes in his name.
