THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY FUNDRAISING PAGE!
The challenge starts ‘in Cairo’ on the 26th April!
Rafiki Thabo’s vision is that young people, including those living with disabilities, will be empowered through education to enable them to reach their full potential and initiate positive change in their communities. They help children who could otherwise not afford to get an education, by paying their school fees. In Kenya, Uganda and Lesotho where Rafiki Thabo have their programmes, even attending normal secondary school means insurmountable school fees, and being away at school would mean that the children cannot work to help put food on the table. The result is that the children are often made to stay at home. Girls are married off too young, and the poverty cycle continues. 8 out of 10 children in Uganda will never go to secondary school! This is because 63% of their population live on less than £1.50 per day (£550 per year), yet the cost of the average secondary school is £322 per year and for a year at university £840 per year.
I would love it if you would consider sponsoring my challenge and help me raise money to enable Rafiki Thabo to empower more children through education!
Follow me here as I will post updates and also look up @RafikiThabo / @rafikithabofoundation on social media where they will share our progress as we make our may through the African continent!
