Whether you are a church-goer or not, this lovely and historic building is a key part of our village community - the scene of baptisms, weddings and funerals. St James the Apostle’s Church in Milnrow goes back at least 500 years and its’ present church building has served the people of Milnrow for 150 years. St James’, Milnrow has been cared for by many generations.
The Church has recently undergone restoration and redecoration to the Chancel area in readiness for its 150th anniversary celebrations including a major refurbishment of the War Memorial but, the age of the Church means that continuous maintenance, repairs and improvements to regenerate the building for community use are required if the Church is to remain for future generations and remain a central focus of village life. These costs are in addition to general running costs.
We can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to the church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, we’re asking you to consider contributing to this massive undertaking. It’s something we need our entire community’s help with.
