Ali Found was a Wife, Mum, soon to be Grandma and a very dear friend to so many. 

In April 2019 she was diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer, having already recovered from this disease three years previously. As a family, we were so deeply saddened by this news, however, Mum was so positive and 100% ready to fight this disease.  

Mum was hit hard with more bad news in May when we discovered the cancer had spread to her Lungs. She started her Chemotherapy at Dorchester Hospital shortly after. 

In June, Mum became unwell suddenly and we were informed that the cancer had spread further to her Brain. We were devastated and just when giving up was the easiest option, Mum was more determined than ever to Beat it. She decided to have Radiotherapy, having been told that her prognosis wasn’t good as she had about 6 months or so to live she was still wanting to fight and she fought for as long as she could. 

Unfortunately, Mum lost her battle on Tuesday 6th August 2019. She was surrounded by family and friends. 

Mum was so brave and consistently wore the biggest smile on her face throughout, which was always so reassuring, she lit up every room with her beautiful big brown eyes. 

Mum never wanted much fuss or never really asked for much. Even when she was so poorly she was still thinking of those closest to her. Now we want to give something back to her. 

Whilst Mum was staying at Dorchester Hospital in her last couple of weeks, she stayed on the Fortuneswell Ward. The staff there were amazing and showed so much compassion to Mum and all of her family and friends. They consistently showed respect and care for Mum, they were always making sure we were okay and if there was anything we needed. This was the most difficult time of our lives and the way they handled it made everything a little easier.

 So, we would like to give something back to The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust, it is a local charity which was so close to Mums heart and to us as a family and if we can help them give something to those similar to Mum then we can all try and take something away from this painful Loss.
