Story
What I'm doing: Two Mountains, Two Countries, One Mission....
....As part of my travels later on this year I am going to be challenging myself with two mountain climbs to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. I will be tackling the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru at over 13,776ft and The W Circuit in Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile reaching 10,500ft.
I am 100% self funding the climbs to ensure ALL sponsorship raised goes to this charity.
Why I'm doing it: My father Jim Bryant passed away in May this year after fighting a very brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was one of a kind (a funny ol fella with kids!) and I am doing this trip with him very much in my heart and mind. I have personal experience of how this type of cancer can affect families and I want to do something to help!
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers – just 3% of those diagnosed survive for five years! It is the ONLY cancer that has seen no improvement in this figure in the last 40 years.
Where your cash goes: Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF’s) mission is to defeat pancreatic cancer by funding and promoting innovative research into the disease - research that will lead to the development of more effective detection and treatment.
I will be keeping you up to date with my training leading up to the challenge, events and of course pictures from my climbs.
So please dig deep and sponsor me now folks!
