Story
Helloo Hellllloooo!
So Yes, it would appear to be true! In just a couple of weeks I will be running the beast that is, the London Marathon..... and I intend to run (and walk a little :)) the full 26 miles!!!!!!!!
Now everyone has a time they say they will do it in, apart from managing to finish it of course, I am aiming to do it in 5 - 6 hours. So far I have managed to do a full 10 miles, which coming from a person who could just about manage 5 minutes on the running machine, I feel I have come a long way! (And have another 16 miles to conquer!)
I am hoping to raise funds for 3 different charities. I have personal reasons for choosing each of these charities and so any amount of money raised for them will be incrediable... the more the better of course:)
This page is all about the Pancreatic Cancer UK charity. I have chosen this charity in memory of my wonderful Bampa (for those of you who aren't welsh Grandad). He unfortunately had to deal with panceratic cancer during the last few months of his life, and I saw the drastic effects that this horrible disease can put people through and how brave he was during this time.
Pancreatic cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer death, and yet has one of the least amount of funding put into it. The Pancreatic Cancer Uk charity aims to raise awareness to the disease, and get more people investing in research and quicker diagnosis, to ensure people suffering with this disease get the treatment they deserve.
Hope you are able to make a donation to this really amazing and beneficial charity! :) .... Now Get your wallets out people!!!!
Pancreatic Cancer UK
Pancreatic Cancer UK is the only national charity dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer on all fronts: through information, support, awareness and research. The charity is committed to improving survival rates for this most fatal cancer and works in partnership with specialists, research scientists, GPs, patients and their families throughout the UK and beyond.
One of the charity's main aims is to fund research, particularly to improve early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and ultimately quality and length of life for future patients. In addition, we also run a support network for today’s patients and their families, and work to ensure that they have access to the best possible information, treatment and care.
