Hey all I'm on the Triathlon trail for the summer and am raising money to support Childrens Hospices in the UK - a really worthwhile cause I'm sure you will all agree!
The London triathlon is on August the 8th 2010 and involves a 1.5km Swim - 40km Bike Ride - 10km Run. I'm hoping to not come last or catch any dark disease from swimming in the Thames! My target is to raise £600 for the charity.
Children’s Hospices UK is the national charity that gives voice and support to all children’s hospice services. Our vision is for every child and young person who is not expected to reach adulthood - and their family - to have awareness of, and access to, the highest standards of care and support close to or in the home. Our work includes:
Care development, helping children’s hospices to continually develop and improve on the care and support they provide to children and families
Awareness raising of children’s hospices, so that all children and families know about the unique range of services they provide. Fundraising for children’s hospices, helping them to continue to provide their services for free to those children and families that need them. Campaigning and lobbying on behalf of children’s hospices, ensuring their voice is heard by the government.
To find out more about the work of Children's Hospices UK and children's hospice services watch our BBC Lifeline appeal (September 2009).
