Story
In the last week of half term, we would like to encourage pupils to exercise and keep active during lockdown, whilst also fundraising for
our partner charities. With this in mind, next week (beginning 8
February) the school charities department will be running a school-wide SPONSORED GAMES HALF!
During their games half, pupils will be encouraged to take
part in a meaningful amount of exercise, while asking their parents and family to donate to this whole-school charity event.
The activity should entail around 30 mins-1 hour of exercise. Potential activities might include:
- 5km walk/jog
- 10km cycle
- 5km erg.
- 20min HIIT session/fitness
session - 30mins rugby 7 skills session
- 30 mins football skills
session
So please encourage your son to take part on his games half day next week and help fund-raise for Beyond Ourselves!
During this pandemic, the schools we partner with in Zambia closed and, in accordance with the government regulations, the feeding programmes stopped as well. Even though the schools were shut we continued to contribute to all staff salaries at our partner schools at this time as we are aware how desperate many of their home situations would be without this much needed income. We have also continued to mentor teachers during this time via video and WhatsApp.However, with the absence of our regular UK school and business fundraising and the cancelled marathons and bike rides, we have an obvious gap in our budget to cover the school staff salaries. We are asking that you would partner with us to "bridge the gap'".We know everyone's financial situation is different, but for those of you who have found that during this time you have saved money on your commute and after work socialising(!), we'd be very grateful if you would consider sending us a donation.
