On 23 Dec 21 I administered my 1000th Vaccination💉on todays shift with St John Ambulance volunteer vaccinators (even got to vaccinate my Daughter Sarah a couple of weeks back) and also my 100th Blood Bike duty completed last night with Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire Blood Bikes (SSCBB) covering just over 4000 miles in the process, and all the above done in 2021 too.

As this year comes to an end and we once again find ourselves in a complicated season, please make sure you get your jabs when you can, encourage others to get theirs and if thinking about giving to a charity in 2022, then please consider those organisations that haven’t been able to raise much needed funds via their attendance at public and community events due to many suffering COVID cancellations.

Blood Bikes are an urgent 100% volunteer service, providing transportation of blood and many different medical products free of charge to all NHS hospitals 24/7. This of course reduces the costs of hospitals paying taxi services to do the same job, allowing the NHS to spend on higher priorities which could go on to save someone's life!

Blood Bikes are therefore solely reliant on donations to maintain this 24/7 coverage, many counties have them but if not then donating a small amount to the SSCBB is a good starting point.
