Story
UPDATE 8th july The awful truth revealed in pictures.
Yes folks those crutches are real and this picture was taken just before the race. The good news is Izzy ran the race in less than 30 minutes and is still spraying the deep heat. The bad news is I ripped my calf muscle on saturday evening cleaning the bath. I immediately re registered to run the bedford 5 k on July 24th but have been told my the doctor this is a no go. I promise to do run the 5k as soon as I can and thanks to those of you who sponsored us and especially Sally who did so even after I told her I was not running it.
anyway loads of money raised for a good cause.
Update 2nd july
concerned to see many women running round cambridge in pink, think for a minute I have got the date wrong but no they are just dead keen. Thanks to everyone for their support . We have well and truely beaten our target with more promised on completion.
UPDATE MONDAY 27th June
I hope it is not this hot on Saturday. Thanks Steve and Hils for your donation and Angela (anon exposed). My father is still to master updating his £5 donation which is still £5 more than James. Its not too late to give to a good cause my pain is cancer research's gain.
UPDATE THURSDAY 23 rd June
Blimey what a response to our low level appeal to family and a few close select friends to support us race for life.
With barely a week to go we have exceeded our target. thanks to all who have pledged money .The big unanswered questions are who is anon? where is the husband/father donation.? will I need another trip to the sports physio? and will I wake up early enough to get another bid in for olympic tickets?
Having talked about it for many years Izzy and Vanessa have at last decided to do something about raising funds to help finally beat cancer .
So for one race and one race only we will be donning the trainers and pinks on the 3rd July to pound the streets of Cambridge
I am currently confident of beating Izzy having achieved my target of running for an hour without stopping . My next target is to actually overtake someone.
Thanks to all who have sponsered us to date including those of you who want to wait until we have finished the race(thanks Des)
Also thanks to louise who responded immediately from Hong Kong our first international sponser.
