My family and I have completed the race for life a few times now, we always do it in memory of  My Dad- Roger Geden -  A very special and amazing man and one who I am very proud to say was MY DAD whom I miss dearly.

This year my mum and I are taking on the 5km challenge alone around Heythrop Park, as my sister Laura who normally does it with us will hopefully be in labour-she is due on the 16th! (GO LOLLY GO!!)

It will be 7 years exactly on Fathers day that My Dad died of a rare genetic form of cancer, that until now has seem to run mainly through the male line of our family so this is an extra special race as it falls on Fathers day too!

It is also in memory of My Uncle Dave who too lost his life to cancer in 2001.

This is not only for all the family members that we have lost but also to give cancer research a little back for the amazing way they deal with cancer patients .

Also this is a big thankyou to people like you that raise money for Cancer Research, due to peoples hard work and donations, we are very lucky that Cancer Research  have managed to isolate the gene that causes the males in our family to have an 80% (THATS 4 OUT OF 5) chance of developing stomach cancer, thus causing the death of my dad, uncle, grandad and half brother along with many others in my direct line. The women also have a 50% risk along with other gynaecalogical cancers too.

ANOTHER HUGE THANK-YOU TO CANCER RESEARCH AS I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A DNA TEST DONE (apr 3rd) TO FIND OUT IF I HAVE INHERITED THE FAULTY GENE AND IF I HAVE INDEED PASSED IT ON TO MY SON.......  I GET MY RESULTS MID MAY!----SO KEEP THOSE FINGERS CROSSED!

We are doing this run to help other families in the same way and hopefully provide them with longer and healthier lives so;

Please give as much as you can, even if its only a few quid so that we can help others to SURVIVE CANCER, we ALL know someone that has been affected by it! 

Lets remember those that we have lost but look to the future for cures and answers.
