A disease that will directly affect 1 in 3 of us, there are very few people who have not been, or will not be affected by Cancer in their lifetime. Ces, as a Doctor, and Charlotte, having been directly affected by the devastating effects of Cancer are very aware of this statistic, which has motivated us to participate in Race for Life on June 22^nd in Crawley.

Charlotte will be running this race in memory of those close to her who have lost the fight against Cancer.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us now you can help more people survive cancer.

Here is an idea of how your money would help in the fight against one of the biggest causes of mortality in the world:

• £10 could buy 300 glass slides for studying cells and tumour samples in detail under the microscope.
• £43 could buy around 500 cryotubes, needed for the protective storing of cell samples at very low temperatures.
• £94 could cover the basic costs for one woman to take part in a clinical trial testing a new way of giving hormone therapy to improve the treatment of breast cancer.
• £260 could buy a sophisticated microarray, a powerful piece of technology, helping scientists to scrutinise thousands of genes in a single experiment, and identify which are switched on in cancer.
