Story
To keep the Hospice operational £7.2 million is needed each year. The majority of this amount is provided through fundraising from the many events that the Hospice team arrange and also from the Local Support Groups within the vicinity of the Hospice.
The Havant and Rowlands Castle Hospice Support Group planned to run several events this year but these have had to be cancelled due to the current Coronavirus crisis.
So as not to be defeated the committee are attempting a far more
strenuous plan to raise funds.
The 1000 km Challenge
Despite not being particularly young or fit, our team of 5 are going to cover a total of 1000km by any non-motorised means available to us.
Walking, Cycling, Rowing, Running, Paddle boarding, Golfing and even Crawling if necessary, to meet our goal of raising £5000 to replace those funds lost from our cancelled events. We aim to complete our challenge over a 2 week period or less.
Any sponsorship will help and encourage us but more importantly, help the Rowans Hospice to deliver their services to those most in need.
We will be kicking off the challenge on 13th July.
