Story
On 4th February 2022, my whole world changed forever. I lost my bestest, most precious friend in an awful accident. Nothing could have prepared me for such a huge and very tragic loss.
We’ve been best friends and spoke daily since we were 11 years old, so many memories made, we experienced so many different stages of life together; teenage years, holidays, young adulthood, babies & parenthood, weddings & marriage - Miriam had blossomed into a confident, beautiful, ambitious 33 year old woman with SO much life left to live.
Miriam was full of life and love, she never sat still! Always out for dinner, drinks, travelling, seeing new places, catching up with old or new friends, visiting family. . Her smile and laugh lit up every room. She was such an amazing friend to me and I will ALWAYS be grateful that I had her by my side for 22 years.
I ran the Hackney half last year, a few months after losing Mil, and the training was like therapy for me. It forced me to get out running in the sunshine, it saved me from a very sad and dark place. It helped me massively and it gave me the ‘me time’ I needed to try and process my grief. I made a pact that I’d run it every year to raise money on Miriam’s behalf & keep her memory alive.
Miriam hated homelessness and often raised money and awareness for charities that supported people less fortunate than us. To raise money in her memory, for a charity that I know she would fully support, means the world to me so any donation is hugely appreciated as this is a cause very close to my heart.
I’m quitting wine for 4 weeks so surely that’s worth a sponsor in itself?!
I’m running this for lovely Miriam, her mum Silvia, sister Lily, stepdad George and all the people that so dearly miss her everyday 🦋
Thanks for reading and hold your loved ones close, you never know when it could be your last time together 🤍
Here’s to you Mimmy - love you forever.
