Story
The COVID-19 situation in London is the most serious it has ever been. Our NHS services are now close to breaking point, as the current surge in cases threatens to overwhelm London hospitals in a matter of days.
While everyone is already doing their bit to protect the NHS by staying at home, we need to support the incredible efforts of our local NHS workers, which is why we are supporting Project Hope, a joint initiative between the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, to support the wellbeing of our NHS staff and patients with your help.
Project Hope aims to support the staff of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust by providing extra staff and services to our local hospitals, to relieve pressure on their overstretched staff. As well as assisting with some practical tasks, Project Hope is looking at other ways to relieve stress and make sure tired staff know they are appreciated.
Here at Berkeley East Thames we've created this page, where our teams and our supply chain can donate to the project. Berkeley will match all donations - with no upper limit - so the more we raise, the biggest impact we will have!
How can your support make a difference:
- £5,000 - will provide refreshments & toiletries for NHS staff, who are working long shifts and cannot go home for days;
- £10,000 - will fund psychological support to 315 NHS workers + 39 tailored workshops on topics around mental health;
- £15,000 - will help to fund a new staff room, a space to unwind from long shifts and help staff get re-energised;
- £25,000 - will fund a new Mental Health Emergency Room in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Greenwich.
