We are providing food and essentials for vulnerable people who are self-isolating or affected financially by the Covid Crisis. Over the last 6 week we have provided over 250 food parcels and we aim to double this over the next few weeks.
Story
The Priors Park Community Support Group we set up on 16th March in response to the Covid-19 crisis to provide help and support initially to the 1200 homes on Priors Park but also to the rest of Tewkesbury. We have collected donations and bought food and supplies for over 300 vulnerable households in and around Priors Park, Tewkesbury and have led the way in shaping and setting up other support groups through the rest of Tewkesbury and the surrounding villages of Twyning and Apperley.
The group is run by a core of six volunteers who receive food and fluids and distribute them to the vulnerable. We have rolled out a network of nearly 30 Neighbourhood Ambassadors across Priors Park who are in contact with the local homes around where they live and are able to receive calls for help and pass them to the Coordinators who are able to provide their needs through food deliveries, Prescription collections, dog walking, shopping and reassuring phone calls.
