Story
I suffered a torn pelvic floor muscle after my first birth resulting in a minor prolapse whilst pregnant with my 2nd baby. I live in a 1st world country with great healthcare and I still had to dig deep into my own pockets to get the right care. I am very fortunate I can afford to do so.
I still have a long way to go on my rehab despite working hard for the past 7 months. I need some help to power me through the challenge set by pelvic floor physio in plugging into my kegal 8 3 x a week and doing kegals 3 x a day. Doesn’t seem much but I hate doing it and it is hard to find the time and motivation when life is so busy! So I thought it would be good to raise some money to help motivate me and help mothers less privileged.
I am supporting Maternity Africa, a charity dedicated to helping women by making childbirth safer. Their work in Tanzania ensures women can access quality maternal health care. They also provide Obstetric fistula and birth injury operations, outreach to promote awareness of fistula and identify new patients, and ongoing training for newly recruited midwives.
