Story
As a house we have decided to challenge ourselves to living off of £1 a day for 5 days to raise awareness, both for ourselves and others, about people living under the breadline, as today around 690 million worldwide live below the line. We want to get a better understanding of the challenges people face on a daily basis surrounding purchasing enough food to feed their families.
At the end of the Challenge the money we would have all spent on a normal weekly shop will be donated to the charity. We would therefore love to raise some money for Charnwood Food Poverty Group to help combat this issue and raise further awareness during these difficult times.
Any donations would be appreciated! Thank you Pleasant Close Crew x
The Charnwood Food Poverty Group is on a mission to stamp out food poverty locally. Sadly, food poverty was already increasing prior to the pandemic. As many will know, COVID-19 has plunged more households into uncertainty than ever before, due to ill-health, shielding, furlough, redundancy and more. They are continuing to work in COVID-secure ways to ensure food provisions are provided. Every penny you donate will be crucial in helping them stamp out food poverty in Charnwood. You can find out more about the Charnwood Food Poverty Group, including a list of member organisations, your closest food services, and great recipes on their website, at www.charnwood-fpg.org.uk. Nobody deserves to go hungry; thank you.
