Story
Cancer rehabilitation is focused on improving the quality of life and experience of people who have been diagnosed with cancer. It is not focused on the disease, it is focused on people, and helping them get back to living.
Many people emerge from treatment facing struggles far beyond their illness. It is easy to underestimate the long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment. However, for those diagnosed with cancer, the struggle is real. Too many people are left to fend for themselves with ongoing pain, or debilitating fatigue, severe deconditioning or functional problems that make returning to a normal life seem impossible.
Cancer rehabilitation is effective alongside cancer treatment, it is effective after treatment is completed, and it is effective for people with advanced disease. Medical treatment may save lives, but cancer rehab gives people their lives back.
