We respond to the world’s worst crises to help people survive &rebuild their lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to Lesvos for a week over the Christmas period to help the volunteers who are struggling to cope with the refugee crisis there. I do not know what I will be doing yet - from others' accounts it will most likely be sorting out boxes in warehouses, driving supplies or doing nightshifts in the camps. (See lesvosvolunteers.com)

I'm paying for the trip myself, and will be taking supplies requested by volunteer agencies like ponchos and blankets. This page, though, is not to help with those costs.

Instead, it is an opportunity to raise money for the International Rescue Committee, one of the bigger agencies helping on Lesvos. They do an amazing job, there and elsewhere and so, rather than ask for funds to help a middle-aged man get over missing Jool's Hootenanny this New Year, I thought I'd ask for funds for them.

Thanks.
