Story

As most will know, Sandridge Scout Group played a huge part in Phil's life and the hut was the backdrop to some of the most important and happy moments in his life; weddings, christenings, birthday parties and so many scout camps/events that we just couldn't count. The current hut is also a building that his own father Eric had a huge hand in the construction of some 50 years ago. The building is now in need of some TLC and in particular desperately needs a new roof.

Through Scouting, and Sandridge Scout Group especially, Phil had a profound impact on so many peoples lives. Teaching them important life lessons and offering them the chance to enjoy new activities and experiences that may otherwise have passed them by. He himself also acquired a great many life long friends through the group who have supported him through the more difficult later years of his life. As such it seems appropriate that his legacy should be to help ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy and benefit from scouting in this location for many years to come.
