We work to to end serious alcohol harm in the UK.

Story

Sometime in October, weather permitting, I intend to 'paddle the Channel' with friends, a distance of 21 miles (34 km).  As novice kayakers, with as little as just 3 months experience, it is proving a challenge to us all, but we are giving it a 'go'.

My attempt is dedicated to supporting Alcohol Change UK, a charity that was formed from the merger of Alcohol Concern and Alcohol Research UK.  The charity works, not against alcohol, but against the harm from alcohol.   Many of us enjoy alcohol, but many of us have also been affected by its excesses .... my wife died of alcoholic cirrhosis.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

If you'd like to support our challenge, that would be great and if you'd like to make a donation, I'd be most grateful.
