The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

I have been planning to do this for a while and the 2.6 challenge gives me a great opportunity. On the 26th May, my dad and I will walk 26 miles from our house in Chipping Norton to my school in Oxford. This is a tough challenge and we have been training hard!

I know that children have to walk many miles each day to school in some developing countries. EDSA, the charity we are raising money for, support educational projects in South Africa, and all money raised will go towards their work. We have a personal connection too. EDSA is an Oxford based charity that was set up by our friends.

Right now, EDSA is working with and supporting Net Vir Pret (Just For Fun), a rural township project for children and young people. I have included some photos of some of the team handing out fun things for children to do at home - please see the photo gallery.

About the charity

EDSA supports the advancement of education and relief of poverty of children and young people living in urban or rural townships as the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and crime, the abiding legacy of apartheid. We support creative and innovative projects and progression onto training/work.
