Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2007 Ronnie was diagnosed with cancer of a type none of us had ever heard of before. It was cancer of the ampulla of Vater which is a small chamber formed by the union of the bile duct and pancreatic duct, which opens into the duodenum. This early diagnosis resulted in major surgery performed by a brilliant team at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. All went well and the prognosis was good. Sadly, only nine months later, signs of the cancer spreading were detected and despite further surgery and a course of chemotherapy, Ronnie died last October.
We hope one day soon scientists will find a way to treat this dreadful form of cancer more successfully and in our very small way we want to help towards raising funds for this vital research.
