Paulette's Birthday Memorial Walk · 19 June 2010

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

Paulette Aikman passed away from cancer on September 30th 2009, aged 53 years. She was a keen walker, and so in her memory this sponsored walk has been organised to mark what would have been her 54th birthday and to raise funds for Cancer Research UK .

The walk is from Wimbledon Park station to Richmond Bridge, around 7 miles.

The route will pass through some glorious scenery and was one of Paulette's favourite walks in London.

In order, we will pass through Wimbledon Park, Putney Heath, Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park, Petersham meadows and follow the Thames Path before reaching our destination at Richmond Bridge.
