My name is Paula Marian and on 2nd of October 2014  I will be travelling to Nigeria as part of the VSO ICS programme.  Myself and other UK volunteers will be teaming up with counterpart volunteers from the host country in order to make a positive and lasting impact on Nigerian communities.

VSO is the world leading independent international development organisation that works to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO's high impact approach involves bringing people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action and change  lives to make the world a fairer place for all. VSO Nigeria has volunteer working in key areas as HIV and AIDS, Secure Livelihoods and Education. 

VSO ICS is a once in a lifetime opportunity funded by the Department for International Development. As proof of my commitment to the programme I am required to fundraise a minimum of £800 prior my departure. The money contributes to the ICS programme so that 7,000 young people from UK and overseas can also volunteer on projects in the developing world and fighting poverty.

So any donation no matter how small or large would be greatly accepted and will be making a real difference.
