Story
On 13 December 2022 Paul Tinkler passed away in Southampton Hospital after a brave fight following an operation leaving us all devastated.
Paul was a loving husband to Nicola, father to Ellie and Ruby, son to Barbs and Andy, brother to Mark and a close member of the wider Tinkler family. To his friends he was quite simply a top mate. Everyone misses him daily and in his memory we wanted to raise money for an amazing charity.
Heartbeat House in Southampton supports the families of patients in Southampton hospital for heart operations and provides a place for them to stay. They are located right next to the hospital and takes all the pressure off the families, financially and logistically, by allowing them to stay, cook meals, wash clothes etc. Nic and Andy stayed in Heartbeat House for a month whilst Paul was in hospital and the support was something they will forever be grateful for.
So on the challenge in hand……Around 15 of Tinks closest mates along with Andy will be hiking nearly 45 miles over the course of 2 days in July along a portion of the Cornish Coast Path.
We will be getting a train to Par early in the morning on Saturday 8th July and then hiking to Looe via Fowey and staying (passing out knackered!) overnight in a holiday park. Early Sunday morning we will be leaving for the longer leg from Looe to Mount Edgecombe before getting the Ferry over to Plymouth and finishing the hike on Plymouth Hoe early Sunday evening. With Tinks being a huge Newcastle fan we’ll be finishing the hike in our Toon shirts.
All the lads are extremely determined to come together and complete this challenge (practice hikes are well under way) and hopefully we can raise a lot more money than the targeted amount.
All donations are massively appreciated by everyone involved so thank you.
🖤 For Tinks 🤍
