Story
Why am I doing this you ask... and why for St Wilfrid’s Hospice?
Well, March this year marked 10 years since my dad passed away. He had support from St Wilfrid’s Hospice in his last few weeks.
Also earlier this year my buddy Eddie F Stenner, local hairdresser, DJ, music promoter, was under the care of the hospice for his final few days. They supported him with pain relief at home in the weeks leading to his passing.
I’m aware of how important the hospice is for local people. We’ve known many people who have benefited from the fantastic care and vital support, not just for the patient but for their families too.
I was going shave my head while Eddie was alive- I wanted to do something to help him - but what could I do? So I thought I would do a little fundraiser to raise money for the hospice, towards his care. I wanted to talk to Eddie about it - alas it was not to be; his time came sooner than we thought.
So I’m doing this in memory of Eddie and my Dad, to benefit those who need it. There’s the obvious hair link too, Eddie and his wife Lorraine, being hairdressers.
AND to shut people up- how many times do I hear “Oi Bedders- when are going to get your hair cut?“ People all over the UK, through the Northern Soul and Scooter scene know me as Noddy Holder (even strangers hollering ‘It’s Chriiiiistmas’ ).
So ‘hair’ goes.
Cheers, Bedders.
Whatever you give will be gratefully received. Target is an ambitious £1021.
Saturday 10th July ‘Shave off’ at 4pm. At Studio One, Bognor Regis. (Eddie’s shop)
