Story
I have sat here for the last 24 hours like everyone else, with feelings of profound rage and sadness at the news of Sarah Everard's case, and the knowledge that approximately every three days another woman is killed by a man. 118 women were killed last year.
I have decided to do one of the only things I know how to do when something appalling happens - try to raise money for people who do good, who make a difference. I know in the grand scheme of things it's nothing, but I refuse to sit here and feel hopeless. And the charity I'm fundraising for do something good every single day for people directly affected by the same toxic male culture that Sarah's murderer came from.
NDADA provide the only refuge left here in Devon, because while men keep threatening, hurting and killing women, we need organisations like NDADA to help women and their children pick up the pieces. If you're reading this and you don't live in Devon and you'd like to donate to a national charity then Women's Aid and Refuge are both totally deserving of your time and money.
If you feel as I do, and you wish there was something - however pitifully small - you could do today, your donation could make a real difference to women and children's lives.
